The Chair of Pediatrics of the University of Tor Vergata was founded in the early ’80, by the distinguished Pediatrician Brunetto Boscherini.
Ever since the teaching staff has kept a strong translational research profile in the field of specialized pediatric disciplines with particular reference to Endocrinology, Allergy, Immunology, Infectious Disease and Hematology.
The activities of the Chair have grown over the last 15 years thanks to the partnership with the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital.
The current Chairman is Prof. Paolo Rossi. The headquarter is located in the University Department of Pediatrics (DPUO) of the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital. The educational activities are coordinated by Prof. Viviana Moschese and include periods of attendance in the specialized Clinical Units of the Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital as well in the Unit of Pediatrics at the Tor Vergata University Hospital.
Currently the academic teaching staff consists of 1 Full Professor, 3 Associate Professors and 8 Assistant Professors.
Students are actively involved in scientific projects and attend the Research Laboratories at the Faculty of Medicine. All these activities are available at the website of the School of Pediatrics through a virtual learning platform.
